Los Blancos did not win La Liga and Europe's biggest club competition in the same season since 1958.

Real Madrid won the Champions League on two of the last three occasions (and 11 times in total).

The club president Florentino Perez has arranged that those involved in the club receive full monthly wages (amounting to € 40 million in total) if the team can win both competitions.
