Makurdi – A yet to know University of
Benin student has drowned in River Benue, on
the last day of Nigeria University Games
Association (NUGA) in Makurdi..

medical and sanitation sub group
confirmed the incident.
The name of the student was not said publicly.
Onoja said the student went to the river
to swim when the incident happened.
She said his corpse had been taken to
Madonna Hospital in Makurdi.
” We had a different call from some students of
the situation but on reaching the river, we
Saw the dead body (Corp) of the student, who has
been identified by his fellow curse mate. He was said
to have take part in some games.
“The whole incident could have been presented”,
she said.
The Nigeria University Games Association
(NUGA) Games was hosted and organize by the Federal
University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM).
Fifty seven universities participated.
