The organization said in a statement that his head of public affairs, Mr. Damianus Ojijeogu, issued on Thursday in Lagos.

WAEC said it had set up the platform to further engage the candidates and use the communication gap between them and the board.

"We are pleased to announce a new electronic information sharing and distribution platform, Candidate Interactive System or WAECkonnect.

"This is to enable the board to communicate effectively with candidates during his exams.

"The council is determined to protect candidates from false prey to fraudulent persons, who may want to use the ignorance of parents and candidates ignoring their activities, to deceive and deceive them," the statement partially read.

The platform will also allow WAEC to effectively involve the candidates before, during and after registration and examinations.

Mr Ojijeogu said that the platform enabled the Nigerian council to disseminate information effectively to the public.

"Notice of important information and changes regarding the past, current or future examinations of the board, exam date, time and place will also be made available through the platform.

"The platform will also provide an automated creation of unique email address for candidates for all interactions with WAEC.

"It will also give the candidates the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current technological tools that will be useful to them in the future.

"It will also be used to announce the Nigerian Examination Board's decision on results among other benefits," he said.
