Farmers/herdsmen clash claims 15 lives in Taraba -Officials




Jalingo – A serious  conflict amongst farmers  and 

Cows  rearers in Ussa and Takum Council 

zones of Taraba has left no less than 15 individuals 

dead while a few others managed different 

degrees of wounds. 

Alhaji Sahabi Mahmoud, the state Chairman of 

the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association 

of Nigeria in Taraba and Mr David Misal (ASP), 

the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of 

the state Police Command have affirmed the 

occurrence. 

However reports that while Sahabi said at 

minimum 15 of his individuals have been murdered and 

covered in Takum on Friday, Misal said that the 

police could just affirm five passings as at the 

time of documenting this report. 

Sahabi, who talked in Jalingo on Saturday, too 

communicated expect that more bodies of his 

individuals may be in the bramble as more than 

150 of them were all the while missing. 

He asserted that several animals 

having a place with the herders were meandering in 

bramble as their proprietors couldn't be followed. 

He approached the security organizations and the 

state government to go to the guide of 

many other steers raisers, who he said 

were caught in the woodlands of Ussa and 

Takum to get out bursting at the seams with their creatures. 

In the mean time, the PPRO in Jalingo on Saturday 

that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Yakubu 

Babas has migrated to Takum to guarantee that 

the emergency was brought under control.
