Bayelsa Police have captured two suspects, a
serving army and an engineer, for supposedly
kidnapping a woman in Warri, Delta on April 4.
The suspects were paraded before newsmen
by the state Police Commissioner, Mr Asuquo
Amba, in Yenagoa.
Amba said the suspects stole one Aya
Magnificence, matured 25, from Warri in Delta and took
her to Bayelsa and kept her hostage in a lodging
while demanding for a N24 million payment
from her family.
The official said the charge moreover
captured a previous trooper, with a military gun,
along Zarama Road, on the East-West street
during a stop-and-hunt operations.
Amba said the three suspects would be
charged to court, when investigations on
their involvement in the wrongdoings, were
closed.
Amba uncovered that the criminals of Aya
Magnificence had gathered N200,000 from her
life partner before they were captured. They had
decreased the payment from N24 million payment
to N11 million and later to N200,000.
Amba said the involvement of the group
neighborhood watch and vigilantes in the
battle against wrongdoing was assisting the
charge.
He said the charge would continue to
work together with conventional institutions,
security partners and Non-Governmental
Association, youth bunches and other important
organizations to make the state wrongdoing free.
The official exhorted sister security
organizations to guarantee that rejected officers
were profiled and stripped of ammo to
check the threat of criminally minded ex-
servicemen.
According to him, criminally minded ex-
servicemen have propensity to utilize unlawful
weapons to threaten the general public.
