The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, announced on Saturday in an interview with the newsmen on the sidelines of activities that marked the pre-JAMB spot examinations.

It should be remembered that the JAMB spot examinations scheduled to last on Saturday, May 8, were postponed to perform the exam as well as possible.

Oloyede said: "So far, it was even better than our expectations. It was a mockery. The intention was to test the technology and it was perfect.

"I think of what we see, we are more than ready for the main examination.

"At least 90 percent of the examination centers reported positively, there was proper download and preparation; Even after the exam, our 80 percent replies were posted.

"We have done this to show that working in other countries around the world must work in Nigeria, we believe we can do it efficiently, and we will continue to do our best.

"We have registered more than 1.5 million candidates in less than five weeks, we believe that the reality we put in place is good enough."

Oloyede said 633 centers were used to carry out the cartoon for 153 000 candidates across the country.

In separate interviews, some exam center coordinators and candidates for JAMB gave praise for the spot initiative aimed at equipping the candidates to do better in the main exam.

Mr Abdul-Aziz Olasoyinka, Technical Research Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute, filed JAMB for the cartoon.

He said it was suitable for preparation for future examinations.

Olasoyinka said: "Mock is a good experience, as it will help the candidates to prepare sufficiently for the upcoming exam.

"It helps to evaluate how well the candidates have prepared and improve themselves over time."

Mr Olajide Adisa, Director of Outstations at JAMB, said that while there were 230 capacity at the Center for Computer-Based Testing (CBT), the plans were to upgrade to 250 for the main exam.

"Even with this, we are specifying that we must have at least 10 percent of the same capacity as backup in case of any interruption.

"We have already introduced measures to test them in the course of the cartoon, they will be ready for the main exam," Adisa said.

A candidate, Ms Hadiza Abdullahi, said the mock investigation had improved her level of confidence before the main exam.

She described the exam as encouraging and added that she expected to make the main exam well equipped.

However, Abdullahi called on the board to put in place measures to enable candidates wishing to register for future examinations to make it easy.

The cartoon was held in three sessions, including the JAMB headquarters and CBT center in the Kogo community.
